Team 1: Works will commence on Downs Side W/C 14th April 2025, with an estimated timeframe of 10 weeks.

Team 2: Works will be completed W/C 7th April 2025 on Shirley Avenue. 4-way traffic lights have been installed at the junction of Shirley Avenue and Northey Avenue and will be in force for approximately one week. Team 2 will then commence works on Cheyham Way, with an estimated timeframe of 7 weeks.

Team 1: The approximate completion date for work on The Drive is 31st March, subject to change if the team encounters engineering difficulties. Following this, Team 1 will move to the top end of the Sandy Lane junction with The Drive, before progressing into Downside, with an estimated completion timeframe of approximately 12 weeks.

Team 2: Work on Onslow Avenue is expected to be completed by the weekend of 16th March 2025. Team 2 will then commence work on Shirley Avenue, with an estimated completion timeframe of four weeks. Temporary traffic lights will be required at the Shirley Avenue/Northey Avenue junction—further updates on timing will follow.

Team 3: Upsizing the main is a slow process, but the team is making good progress. Once the open-cut work on Sandy Lane is complete, they will continue trench work into Warren Avenue, extending up to Onslow Avenue.

This week we will be completing trial excavations on Sandy Lane, Onslow Avenue and The Drive. This will include camera surveillance.

Next week the plan is to:

– start Open cut method on Sandy Lane (Phase 1)
– install a new main in Onslow Gardens by live insertion method (Phase 1)
– install a new main in The Drive by live insertion method. (Phase 1)

We will start letting customers know early next week when the gas supply for each property on that section will be affected.
