JSM’s efforts towards becoming a more sustainable business has been recognised by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA). in shortlisting us for our innovations with NICE (Non-Intrusive Cable Extraction and NITE (Non-Intrusive Tank Extraction).
NICE is an innovative method for removing underground decommissioned fluid filled cables without the need for traditional open cut trenching for the entire length of the cable thus mitigating any environmental risk of leaving the cables buried.
NITE was also developed by JSM to provide both tools and methodology for removing buried decommissioned oil tanks. The JSM method enables all the excavation and removal works to be carried out from ground level mitigating the need for large, deep excavations and temporary works which, in turn means a safer excavation. Once the top of the tank has been exposed and oil feeder pipes removed then everything is undertaken from above ground.
Both innovations took years in the making and are offered as an option on our projects with major clients.
JSM is delighted to be shortlisted by the IEMA for these innovations and the increased interest expressed by our clients to use NICE and NITE on their projects.
